قال بعض السلف: إذا أراد الله بعبد خيرًا، فتح له باب العمل، وأغلق عنه باب الجدل، وإذا أراد الله بعبده شرًّا، أغلق عنه باب العمل، وفتح له باب الجدل.

Some of the Salaf (righteous predecessors) said: If Allah wants good for a servant, He opens for him the door of good deeds and closes the door of argumentation. And if Allah wants evil for a servant, He closes the door of good deeds for him and opens the door of argumentation
